Best Movie Trilogies

The end of 2015 saw The Star Wars saga pick up where it left off with a new trilogy, thanks to the release of Star Wars: The Force AwakensAnd the hype of our collective geekdom reached feverish heights.

Will the rest of the films in the new trilogy manage to redeem the tarnished Star Wars universe after the last three underwhelming prequels? Only time will tell, but if they manage to pull it off, it will be quite the feat seeing as expectations are still sky-high.

Making a satisfying collection of three films is something very few series achieve, because it requires exceptional story control, characters you’ll care about over many hours and many years, plus a writer/director’s ability to tie everything together without necessarily knowing the end of Part Three when they’re making the beginning of Part One. These, in my view, are the 10 trilogies that have done it best.

Atletico Madrid 2-0 Juventus Video Highlight

The match had appeared to be heading for a goalless draw at the Wanda Metropolitano, before Atleti defenders Gimenez (78) and Godin (83) gave Diego Simeone's side a huge advantage heading into the second leg in Turin on March 12. That will come as a big relief to the home team, who had earlier seen substitute Alvaro Morata's 70th-minute header ruled out by the Video Assistant Referee for a push on Giorgio Chiellini. It was Atleti, though, who thought they had the best chance to open the scoring before half-time when referee Felix Zwayer decided that Mattia De Sciglio had tripped Diego Costa just inside the box. However, after consultation with the VAR, the correct decision was made with the Juve right-back having clearly caught Costa just outside the area, with Woj...

SysAdmin 101

This book explores system administrator fundamentals. These days, DevOps has made even the job title “system administrator” seem a bit archaic, much like the “systems analyst” title it replaced. These DevOps positions are rather different from typical sysadmin jobs in the past in that they have a much larger emphasis on software development far beyond basic shell scripting. As a result, they often are filled with people with software development backgrounds without much prior sys- admin experience. In the past, sysadmins would enter the role at a junior level and be mentored by a senior sysadmin on the team, but in many cases currently, companies go quite a while with cloud outsourcing before their first DevOps hire. As a result, DevOps engineers might be thrust into the role at a junior level with no mentor around apart from search engines and Stack Overflow posts. In this book, I expound on some of the lessons I’ve learned through the years that might be obvious to longtime sysadmin...
